They're wonderful creatures that have been living on the islands for a long time. They thrive on land and in the water and are extremely resilient. They have long built their resilience for always hot temperatures and fast changing environments.   Their appearance whispers old wisdom and ancient times.
Iguanas are facing numerous challenges - they have been smuggled over continents with ships back in the days, they have learnt to survive and thrive in new environments. They have faced changes in their environment dur construction and building but they have also end up on island tourists plates!
Established in 1969, Slagbaai Washington National Park in Bonaire ensures that all creatures on the island and therefore ecosystems are protected. 

Seeing and being able to photograph different creatures makes me appreciate diversity around us more and wanting to make sure we are all protecting it-  starting from every single species of reptiles.
